Website Maintenance & Support
Monthly website maintenance — updates, backups, security monitoring, uptime checks and priority support, so problems get found before your customers find them.
Websites do not fail dramatically. They degrade — a plugin update breaks a form, an SSL certificate lapses, a backup that was never tested turns out not to restore. Usually nobody notices until a customer mentions it, which means you have been losing enquiries for some unknown number of weeks.
Maintenance is insurance against finding out that way.
What is actually included
Updates, applied carefully. Core, theme and plugin updates tested on staging before they touch your live site. Automatic updates are how sites break at 2am on a Saturday.
Backups that have been restored. An untested backup is a hope, not a backup. I verify restores periodically, because the moment you discover a backup does not work is always the worst possible moment.
Uptime monitoring. Checks every few minutes. If your site goes down, I know before you do — and usually before your customers do.
Security. Scanning, hardening, and prompt patching of known vulnerabilities. Most site compromises exploit a vulnerability with a fix that was released months earlier.
A monthly report you can actually read. Uptime, load times, what was updated, what changed in traffic. One page, plain language, no dashboard login required.
Small content changes
Most packages include a modest allowance of small edits each month — a price change, a new team member, updated opening hours. The things that are too small to be a project but stay undone for six months without someone to send them to.
Why it is worth paying for
If your website generates enquiries, an outage is lost revenue and downtime you did not notice is lost revenue you cannot measure. For most businesses the monthly cost is less than a single lost job.
If your site is purely a brochure that nobody visits, you may not need this. I will tell you if I think that is the case.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need maintenance if my site rarely changes?
A site that never changes still needs security patches and certificate renewals — those are the things that break unattended sites. But if it genuinely generates nothing, a lighter package or none at all may be the honest answer.
Can you maintain a site you did not build?
Usually. I audit it first and flag anything that needs fixing before ongoing maintenance makes sense.
What is the response time?
Same working day for anything affecting a live site. Non-urgent requests within two to three working days.
